Mandaue City: 1.5 Days In 6 Perspectives (Part 5-Andy Hotel)

A whole day of travelling will not be complete without an accommodation in a decent hotel where you can rest and get a shut eye! Mandaue City has lots of hotels to offer, from the lavish to the 'bang for the buck' inns!

In Part Five of my Mandaue City blog series, we will talk about one of these hotels. So sit back and relax, it’s an Andy Hotel review!

Let's start!

Andy Hotel is located at 727 A. S. Fortuna Street, Mandaue City. It's about an hour away from Mactan Airport (without traffic in consideration), about 10-15 minute ride to Matia's and AA BBQ (two well-known barbecue and grill joints in town), a two minute walk to a familiar fast food chain (if food 'hunting' is not on your menu) and pharmaceutical store—and lastly, half-a-minute walk to the fruit and fishball vendors (just across the street).

Andy Hotel is decent-looking, clean and Tripadvisor recommended (the sticker at the main entrance says so). The staffs are all friendly and helpful. They also have a small cafe/resto that serves coffee and meals. Security is covered by a guard (obviously) and a surveillance camera at the reception area. Live feed of the surveillance camera may be accessed via channel 1; a pretty neat feature for me.

All rooms are accessed and operated by a RFID key card.
(Click) Please, do come in dear reader!

Rooms have a simple modern layout. All the electronics and faucets, not to mention the water heater works properly. Thirsty during the late or early hours of the day? No worries my dear reader, hot and cold water dispensers are available at every floor. TV reception is not that clear, but still a-ok. The only letdown for me is the 'Andy Hotel' LED sign at the reception area. For me, it looks like a night club sign (or maybe I'm just picky).

Room 309, the Adorable Standard with Queen-size bed (I think).
All the faucets and the water heater works fine!
The cabinet can cover all of your stuff. There's also an extra pillow at the top!
The view of Mandaue City in my room...and the familiar fast food chain.
Hot and cold drinking water is available 24/7.
You wake up with a newspaper at the door.
I've kept this as my souvenir (besides the pictures of course)!

So, would I stay again at Andy Hotel? For business trip, yes definitely—the company will pay for the accommodation anyways (laughs). For personal reasons however, no. Their room rates are not appealing for budget tourists. For people on the other side of the coin (travellers who have money to burn), Andy Hotel is not a bad option.

Room rates (oh no).

Their asking price may not be catchy for most travellers, but it would not stop me from recommending Andy Hotel as one of the best hotels to stay at Mandaue City!
